2.2 Hardware System
A. 510 Ceiling Clip Pair, Option A 510 Ceiling Clips are designed to mount overhead panels to ceiling furring. These 510 Ceiling Clips are a pair of hidden ceiling panel clips that lock together both side to side and front to back and still allow panels to remain removable.
This fastener allows panels to be lifted and dropped into place, securely hanging panels from any wood furring that will hold screws. Once in place the panels can be removed, but only with coordinated lifting on all edges (1/16” ceiling clearance). The 510 Ceiling Clip has a Z-hook shape, with a 1/8” overlapping edge and end stops that prevent one clip slipping off each other. The clips have 3 holes for secure mounting and are rated up to 25 lbs.
Ceiling Clips we use 3 each, 3/4" - 8 Pan Head wood screws in each clip.
B. 511 Ceiling Clip Bars and Single Clips, Option B 511 Ceiling Clip Bars are designed to mount overhead panels to ceiling furring or directly to steel studs. The 511 Ceiling Clip Bars have the same profile as the 510 Ceiling Clip Pairs. The 511 Ceiling Clip 12 FT. Bars can span distances of up to a maximum of 24" and are used to hang large ceiling panels across short spans (Studs), unlevel surfaces and existing drywall. This fastener allows panels to be lifted and dropped into place, securely hanging panels from any wood furring that will hold screws. Once in place, the panels can be removed, but only with coordinated lifting on all edges (clips have 1/16” vertical clearance). The 511 Ceiling Clip Bar has a Z-Hook shape with a 1/8” overlapping edge. This prevents one clip slipping off the other. The clips are rated to 25 lb. each.
Ceiling Bars must be carefully attached to the steel studs or furring. Use 3 each, 1" - # 10 Pan Head wood screws for each clip, with in 4" of each clip. Do not mount single clips to an unsupported bar.
