Backsplash Clip 12ft. Bar

Application

The Backsplash Bar is 12 ft. having same profile as the Backsplash Clip.  It is used to double as both a clip, and an unseen counter top (back side) support. The Backsplash Clip is designed to solve many problems associated with the installation, maintenance and durability of countertops with a backsplash. The clip provides a mechanical connection between the countertop and backsplash that is durable, permanent and corrosion resistant. The backsplash clip is quick to install and extremely water resistant, eliminating the significant problem of internal water damage.

Product Uses

The Backsplash Bar provides a mechanical lock, as required by AWI Premium grade for the installation of backsplashes, and can also be used as a counter top support. Over time cabinets and floors begin to settle causing gaps between the countertop and backsplash.  The Backsplash Clip/Bar eliminates this, and the need for hot melt glue, or kickers, that require a second trip for caulking.

Product Advantages

  • Provides excellent countertop support.
  • Allows for one-trip installations.
  • The wedge design forces the backsplash to tighten against the countertop, mechanically closing any gap between the countertop and backsplash.
  • Because the backsplash is locked into position, it can be set in a bed of caulking, rather than simply calking the gap after installation.
  • Complies with AWI premium requirement for countertop mechanical fasteners.
  • Use in combination with a bed of silicone, results in virtually water proof connections.

Strength Testing  –  with 3/4" - 45 lb. Particle Board:
Tensile Failure (Horizontal pull) = 40 lbs. / Working Strength, Pull from Backsplash = 10 lbs.
Shear Failure (Vertical weight holding) = 200 lbs. / Working Strength, Weight holding = 40 lbs.
